MAINTAIN

Does it work? Is it safe?

We specialise in ‘fault finding’ and EICRs. We use advanced fault finding and safety verification techniques to check the health of your electrical installation.

Our aim is to restore to design intent. We work with you to asses your needs and engineer a maintenance solution that will keep your electrics working as designed and satisfy your insurance or landlord regulations.

Should I Value Maintenance?

Loose connections cause fires. In almost all areas in life, maintenance is good practice to reduce cost and increase reliability. The best type of maintenance is ‘preventative’. This means fixing things before they break. We recommend EICR’s at regular intervals. This allows for upgrading or replacing electrical systems as it becomes required. Keeping to this method, the lights stay on and you are less likely to have surprises. Nobody likes burned out cables or nuisance tripping of electrical circuit breakers.

If the worst happens, maintenance becomes ‘reactive’. That means fixing things when they break. Often reactive maintenance can be time consuming and cause unplanned disruption. We use various types of test equipment and techniques as well as our good engineering judgement. This minimises cost and restores your installation to a safe and lasting condition.

Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs)

More Info

What do I get from an EICR?

Our EICR’s are detailed PDF reports on the condition and safety of your electrical installation.

First, an inspection of all fixed wiring and accessories is done and accessories are sampled to check for damage, degradation or loose connections.

Next, electrical tests are carried out to confirm that cables are not damaged and protective electrical connections are in place.

Further testing and calculations are performed to check that safety devices are operating correctly. All of this verifies that the wiring is in good condition and is safe for continued use.

If there are no potentially dangerous conditions found then the outcome is satisfactory. We can often fix as we go but if any unsafe conditions remain at the end of the inspection you will be advised of your options to restore safety.

Fault Finding

More Info

When the power goes out we have you covered. We specialise in fault finding with training and experience in fault finding in electrical systems. Faults can have various causes:

  • Water leaks
  • Loose connections
  • Cable damage
  • Faulty equipment or appliances
  • Overloaded circuit, etc

When we are called out we aim to safely restore power on our first visit.
